Information about Czech private health insurance
Basic health insurance is for 90 days or less. Basic health insurance is usualy required by an embassy for people to travel to CR and sign their employment contract.
Complex health insurance is usually for people who do not expect to work in CR during their stay, or people who plan on being self employed in CR.
You do not need health insurance during the visa application process, you only need the insurance once your visa has been approved.
When your visa is ready for collection, you will be told by the relevant embassy to show "proof of health insurance".
This is when you need to buy your Comprehensive health insurance.

When you renew your visa you will be issued with a residence permit.
If you will be employed in CR you will Health Insurance to collect your visa.(This type of insurance is often called "travel insurance" by the Ministry of the interior)

Basic health insurance is no longer suitable for visa collection but, always listen to the relative embassy and take the insurance the insurance the embassy asks for.
Some embassies may ask you to bring Czech Basic health insurance. In such a case do what the embassy says.
