Axa basic health insurance terms and conditions
Axa basic health insurance covers necessary and urgent care and is intended for people who intend to stay in the Czech Republic for a maximum period of 90 days, people applying for a short-term visa, or intend to reside in the Czech Republic for more than 90 days and apply for a long-term visa or long-term residency permit.
The insurance meets Czech visa reglations and is valid fors necessary and urgent care throughout the Schengen area.
The insurance covers:
necessary and urgent treatment and hospitalisation in the Czech Republic
covers the Czech Republic and member states of the Schengen area
acute dental care
essential examinations required to determine diagnosis and medical procedure to be taken
essential treatment and hospitalisation
outpatient medicines
repatriation of the insured to the country of origin, if required

Axa have a short list of contracted doctors or clinics, you should not have to pay anything at a contracted clinic.With Axa you will most likely pay cash for your treatment. Tell the doctor or clinic you will be paying cash, this should not be a problem.
Ask for a receipt and claim the money back by contacting the assistance sevice.
When you call, there will be some answering service/machine.

When someone answers they will most probably speak to you in Czech first. Just speak English to them and they will speak English. Tell them you have Axa Complex health insurance and they will need your contract number. So have your contrct number ready.

Once you have paid the system will automatically email you the docuemnts you need for your visa collection

Axa have a very specific health insurance plans that meet Czech visa reglations.

Axa Basic health insurance is suitable for collection of a Czech visa if you will be employed in CR on a Czech employment contract.
Basic health insurance cover emergency treatment only. The insurance does not cover standard visist to the doctor.
